MGEX 1/100 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam : Preorder

The MGEX 1/100 Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam is the third entry in Bandai Spirits' MGEX line, where each release is built around a specific theme using a combination of materials and finishing techniques developed across the range. This kit's theme is iridescent expression, achieved through mechanical core plating that pushes the sense of depth and shimmer further than previous releases. It marks the first time coloured plastic mechanical core plating has been used in Gunpla history, which is genuinely worth noting.

The kit is based on the MGEX 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam frame, which carries the most frame-linked articulation gimmicks of any MG to date, with select parts newly moulded to suit the Mighty Strike Freedom's design. The gold finish has been completely reworked: multiple types of gold plating, extra surface treatments, and real metallic gloss injection moulding combine to produce a gradation across the gold tones rather than a flat finish. The Disruptor is reproduced through a parts-swap mechanism, and the cockpit can accommodate both the included Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne figures.

A standing figure of Lacus Clyne is also included, designed to be placed on the chest of the main body to recreate a specific scene from the film. A separate Lacus figure is provided for use within the Proud Defender. It's a thoughtful level of detail for fans of Gundam SEED FREEDOM, and the combination of articulation, plating, and scene recreation options makes this a substantial build.
