RG 1/144 Gundam Astray Red Frame MBF-P02

This is the Real Grade kit of the Gundam Astray Red Frame, built around Bandai's Advanced MS Joint internal frame system developed specifically for the RG line. The frame uses an interlocking movable gimmick where the internal structure expands and contracts as it slides against the outer armour, mimicking the movement of human musculature. It's a clever bit of engineering that gives the kit a satisfying range of motion straight out of the box.

Colour separation is handled through finely divided parts moulded in the correct hues, so the shading across the body holds up without any painting required. The metallic finish that paint struggles to replicate convincingly is covered by realistic metallic decals, and a full set of markings is included for those who want to add the operational detail.

The Red Frame's signature weapon, the Gerbera Straight katana, is silver-plated to capture the blade's distinctive crest - that's one of those details that makes the kit feel properly considered rather than an afterthought. Alongside it, the kit comes equipped with a beam rifle, beam sabre, and shield to round out the armament.
